iA Writer for Mac is designed to be used without a mouse. iA Writer’s default keyboard shortcuts in each menu are below.

Apple’s Dictionary: select a word then use Control-Command-D to show a pop-up definition.

You can assign keyboard shortcuts to menu items without them via System Preferences Keyboard Keyboard Shortcuts Application Shortcuts.

You can set a keyboard shortcut to create a new email from selected text in Keyboard Shortcuts Services Messaging too.
